Chapter 17 - My Ink and Paper are almost Gone

I wanted to write about the time I crushed my leg when we had to rescue five people. That was when part of the silver mine collapsed. But I only have a few sheets of paper left and not much ink.

I need to stop my memoirs for the time being. Before closing, I want folks to know that I left the United States after I retired and am now living in a cabin on the shores of a small lake in Manitoba. I think the fishing is the best this side of Alaska.

Perhaps in a week or two, I’ll go into Winnipeg to buy some supplies and get myself some more writing materials as well. I hope someday I can have my memoirs published. If I don’t get the chance, maybe that fellow in the future, Louis L’Amour will learn of the Sheriff of Duncan Flats and write a novel about him, just like the fortune teller predicted.

  God Bless,

  Homer Bolton

  Retired Sheriff of Duncan Flats
